Re: Club meeting /AGM

I agree, Andy, that 35 miles races are not much use to healthy pigeons that fly that far having a bit of a lap around in the morning. Even 120 miles is not much use once you get them over the channel. The only thing is it would be education for them being marked, going in the transporter, etc. Proc...

Re: few pairs and the eyes

The hens eye is far superior to the cocks for breeding. She has a similar deep and full inner circle. Which is well serrated. She has much more room in the eye with the iris being not as strong. There is a lot of graining also in the circle of colouration. This is when I think that breeding from win...

Re: few pairs and the eyes

I will be interested to see what he was paired to. In my opinion I would say a racing eye and not a breeder. Tell me if I’m wrong and that he bred a few good birds. For me although he has a very nice inner circle with both width and depth the iris is far to full.

Re: Club meeting /AGM

Yes Trev Phil is still a member. He only has 5 old birds to race. He has brought in some new stock birds for the distance and looking to breed a team around them so may not race this year’s youngsters. I’m not worried about them not having any inland races before going over the channel. If we had de...

Re: Getting the right nutrition fed.

I must say that I have never weighed out my feed, so I wouldn’t have a clue how much their eating. I feed them to appetite and take away what they don’t eat. I’m sure that now they are out on open loft they will probably eat a bit more as their fitness and energy requirements improve as the time the...

Re: few pairs and the eyes

this eye Andy i find strange The pupil in this one is quite large. Because of this the inner circle appears quite narrow but is full of dark shading. The iris is very full and flat almost completely covering the circle of colouration. I would say a good racing eye but probably not a very consistent...
