Re: Members or birds
I be honest lads you can dress a result up but for me there's 1 winner n there's a good bird in bad location on result,, All these limits n 2 birds n special noms are OK for club entertainment but there not real results it's like the egg n spoon race at sports day it's a laugh. The lads in the NW w...

Re: Members or birds
Big senders I love em it don't change the result in my opinion, Bird limits we have keeps members happy but it's a false result thets be honest who wants prizes they didn't win? In Dublin in isrf it's 50 bird limit n a member or partnership can only belong to one club To me this is a great thing to...

Re: Members or birds
Some clubs I know, have limits on the places each member can take, and another bone of contention is birdage on the result that includes trainers entered by members, that don't have a clock set. I didn’t know that went in that not right to include them in a the result under them circumstances We ha...

Re: Members or birds
Members EVERY time. The number of birds is good for selling nothing but else. Back in the 80s by old club had say 45 sending 300, the race this week saw 10 sending 106

Re: Yb teams
The size of the YB team is a huge factor. The smaller your team the quicker they will fly. My YB team was around 25 bred from 2 rounds. Weaned into TWO sections. They were loft flown separate, and trained separate. Rarely dropped a pigeon when training in the last 4 years I raced.

I wonder who else will lose it? The RSPB should be one and the Royal Mail should be another.

Re: Hawks / peregrine lost birds
There is NO solution to this problem. As fanciers numbers reduce the problem for those left will only get worse. WE the fancier didn't help the situation. As fanciers bred more birds to cover losses, this just PROVIDED the BOP with a bigger food source. Changing routes to avoid them may work short t...

Re: Recovery from racing
Rest is the best thing a pigeon can have after a race, but every pigeon is different. I always let mine out the day after a race and put a bath out for them. Some birds just came out of the loft and straight to the bath others went for a fly. I've had birds fly up to 13 hours and after 30 mins it's ...
