I’ve had a stray on the house for about a week and a half now. Won’t even come down onto the loft let alone come in. It flys and sits with mine when out. This evening I have another 2 strays join it spending the night on the house. It looks like one of them is unrung from what I can see.

No mate. It must be finding food or going off for a while to find food before coming back.

Maybe it will just go when ready

A couple of weeks ago I had a red chequer hen land on the roof and drop straight in with mine. It was hungry. I mean real hungry, and by it's behavior I would say being hungry is the usual state of affairs where it came from. Just gorging itself. And wild! It was like a feral pigeon. I managed to grab it and put in a box.

I called the ring secretary of the club the ring belonged to, the other Bendigo club, who did not even have his phone number! But he told me the bloke lived "Somewhere over in Eaglehawk". That's a suburb of Bendigo. So, next day I took it over to the Eaglehawk, or as he called it Eagle'awk cemetery and let it go. When I got home it was back in the loft

I am waiting for someone to claim it, and it is getting quieter, but you have to wonder what sort of hell it was living in?
Greetings from the land down under. :D

I have had 5 around here the last couple of days. The one that has been here for a couple of weeks still hasn’t come in but 2 did today. One is limping badly but although definitely injured it doesn’t appear broken. This one has no phone number on it. The other one that came is was a little red chequer cock. This one had a phone wing stamp I knew the code was fairly local. When checking it was from one of our club members lol. I took that to the club tonight.

Not far to go then with that one, at least back home safely

Poor thing, it is clearly happier in your loft mate, but then your place is like a 5 star hotel the way you treat them 🤗👍
Some people just shouldn't be allowed to keep animals of any sort.

I've still only had a couple of strays in this year, had a few turn up on a race day but they have cleared off after having a rest. The latest stray I had in unfortunately has gone to Newbold Verdon today with our birds as the owner wouldn't answer his phone of reply to text messages 😡🤬 Its great having rules saying all race birds should have a contact number but half the time you still can't get through to them, I should report them really. We'll see what happens if it turns up back here today.
