We had the power on for about an hour. That was nice 
It's just on dusk here, and the power went off again. After i put the candles back in the box.
The smoke is getting quite thick outside. With no TV we are relying on our phones for updates. Not ideal.
If anyone stands in front of you and tells you that 'green energy' is the way forward, you must take a step back and kick them in the testicles with every ounce of energy you can muster.

Really is stupid but pretty much the same here trying to cut everything to the core then expect the country to carry on like normal, thankfully we haven't had the power off but they have been on about for a while now, cutting it for so many hours per week, hope that smoke stays up wind and folks stay safe, as I said in other post when we in Greece we lived at the bottom of a mountain and was completely surrounded by trees and when the fires started it was always the mountains that got it we had some very close shaves but always managed to stay safe

Power is back on, air is clear with just a hint of smoke. Sun is shining.
We put the air conditioning on when the power came on during the night and were able to sleep. Hard to sleep when it's thirty something degrees inside.

Yesterday saw the spot price of electricity hit $16600 per Megawatt in Victoria, while across the border in NSW it was $20 and in Queensland $60.
Storms caused major damage to the already weakened power infrastructure and hundreds of thousands of homes are still without power today.
Some may have no electricity for "days or weeks".

Funny thing is that after a couple of hot days, and a stormy hot wind yesterday, when I went out to feed the pigeons this morning they looked fantastic. All bouncing around. And here's me been worrying about them living in the tin shed.
Same with the cats. They just lay around for a couple of days and when the power was off they just slept on the floor where it was cooler. This morning they are tearing around the house like lunatics!
Mind you, It got hot, it touched 39c the last two days, but you can function in that for a day or two. Back when we used to get mid 40's, that was too hard.

There are lots of rabbits around here. They are cute to watch, but any farmer will tell you they do a lot of damage. The cats have never seen one before and are fascinated!
That's why we have to keep them locked up in their cat enclosure. They would be gone chasing rabbits and we would never see them again!
