Apple cider vinegar

Talk about anything racing pigeon related here aslong as there isnt a section for it.

What’s people’s views on ACV
I haven’t used it for years but I do use a product to lower the PH in my water
Do members use it for this purpose or for other health benefits or do you consider it pointless

Morning Neil

On the advice of the best pigeon man I ever met I used to give our birds ACV for a prolonged period of time

At the rate of 5 ml per 2 litre drinker you can give with no fear about any damage to the internal organs (most notably the liver)

I used to buy an Organic one from the Supermarket.

Like you, I try and get Phil to use the lowering of the PH in the water (the racers are on it today).

Cheers Mike
I think I might change from my normal product to it

Hi Buster
No I use Avidress but obviously ACV may do the same job a little cheaper

I swear by apple cider vinegar. It is a great thing to promote the health of the birds, especially if combined with fresh garlic.

Three times a week I crush a clove of garlic and put it in a bottle of lukewarm water. several hours later I strain out the garlic, add 10 ml of natural ACV and dilute it to make 3 litres.
The pigeons are always in brilliant health so it does them no harm :D

Also, at least once a week I throw some vegetables in the blender and give it to them.

First of all they love the veggies, and it is a good way to give them the vitamins and minerals and trace elements which can be missing from a grain diet.
I also give them a fish oil capsule squeezed on the grain about once a week. They have white wattles and lovely soft plumage. :D

I use this one, I use it as an all round tonic/supplement really. I couldn't honestly, hand on heart, tell you if it helps or not though 🤔😉

So your system is more health related than to lower the PH
