Now that, my friends, is very interesting.
Half a world away, the Bendigo Invitation club raced with the Central highlands Combine again.
An absolute shocker.
Same race point, same pigeons, clear day. Pigeons missing everywhere. David had 20 arrive in the first bunch. Only 3 of them were his. He was well down by last night and a couple of blokes got none.
Apparently there is a a lot of solar flare activity. I have never given much notice to it, but it's a hell of a coincidence that the pigeons are losing their compass on both ends of the earth on the same day.
Some more investigation is required I think.
Looks a bit tricky Saturday
At clocks we were
8/28 20/41 14/28 2/12 0/7 4/7 6/12
110 miles
I can’t think of one like this for many years
It was cloudy here but high clouds I would definitely have trained myself
Every year it’s the same we breed to many because we no we are going to batted I myself decided not to race young birds so I’ve trained them up to 35 miles so I might be lucky I’ve got a good team for next year but they haven’t had a race but well schooled a member said the sun and moon were out together yesterday but I never noticed let’s hope some make it home today
The late Bill Cowell, Bilco, mentioned the solar flares many times several years ago. He used to write for the pigeon journals. He lived just around the corner from me in later life and I spoke to him on several occasions regarding this. I wasn’t racing myself at the time though.Murray wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2024 10:50 pm Now that, my friends, is very interesting.

Let's hope more birds return for the guys over there too.
Just put yesterday behind us and move on a bit of a strange day to say the least
Rest recovery mine are on forte and improver and pharma tdc all mixed together seems a lot but the water doesn’t seem to be strong tasting
Feed dupurative and mostly energy mix with gemthepax
How’s others dealing with recovery from a total mess of a race
