I certainly wouldn’t give up on him if he is coming back in good condition. He just wants testing to see what he is capable of. He is obviously a loner and one that is less likely to follow other batches.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
I agree with Andy and love individuals like that in my loft, it may do nothing as a youngster but as long he is still here at the end of season I would say he is one to go the distance in the future

I think I've said before I had a young hen back in 1989, I don't remember her whole ring number but the last two digits were 39. She was a Cattrysse cross Busscheart from our Dads old lines. As a youngster she had two or three races but was a week or more late from all of them, as a yearling she had a few more races up to around 250miles and was down the order from the all but at least arrived on the day. As a two year old she was timed in the from Berwick 350miles to me. Then as a three year old she really repaid my patience and was 4th club from Berwick 350miles, 2nd club from Stonehaven 431miles (only 2 birds home in the club on the day) and then took top spot from Banff 495miles, all three of these races were within a five week period so when you take into count the days of basketing she didn't have long in the loft between races. I sadly lost her and one of my Thurso winners the following year in a smash from Elgin (no birds in the fed in race time) and I've never had a bird quite like her since.

Good bird that was, that is what I used to say about mine will be great over distance as he used to fly anything from 7am until 3pm so did his brother until I lost him, the one I still have I have never bred a thing from as his hen was also raced up until she got lost in a bad race then he was single for ages and now the hen he paired to not sure him or her but eggs never hatchTrev wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 10:19 pm I agree with Andy and love individuals like that in my loft, it may do nothing as a youngster but as long he is still here at the end of season I would say he is one to go the distance in the future

Sadies Lofts home of decent birds just a useless loft manager, and now a confirmed loser but proud
