Down by the back fence there's a scruffy looking tree.

Between the tree and the fence there's a Blackbird's nest.

I've been watching it for a week or so, and saw the baby sitting on the edge of the nest today.
This afternoon Catherine called out "Ooh look!" I wandered over and she was pointing at a baby bird half hidden in a plant. I went and got the ladder and had a look in the nest. It was empty.
The little one had got about 40 feet away from it's nest. The mother was in a tree very excited. Catherine picked it up and bought it over and I put it back in it's nest.
The parents immediately started zooming back and forth bringing it food. So hopefully it will be okay :D

Baby blackbirds are stupid. They leave the nest after about 14 days and at that stage can’t fly at all well and spend most of the time on the ground.
We had a pair of blackbirds that had 2 rounds in our honeysuckle last year.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.

You are right, Andy

The stupid little bugger is over behind the water tank this morning. I guess they survive, one of the parents was buzzing around keeping an eye in it.

Nature generally looks after itself, it's only when we interfere that it starts going wrong.

Looks like a lovely and warm spot Muzza, that tin fence must give off some heat during the summer !!

Ooh yea! that fence has the afternoon sun on the back of it. It'll be hot on a summer's day.
