Distance racing pigeons
I had a grizzle hen bred by George that had 11 flights in both wings. She was a Kirkpatrick. Flew the channel 6 times. Unfortunately taken by a hawk around home last year.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
You count them?
I've never counted the feathers in a pigeon's wing in my life.
Mind you I seldom look at their wings. With only half a right hand I find it awkward opening the wing and the birds don't like it. So apart from racing young birds, to make sure they aren't at a tricky stage in the moult, I tend to just leave that alone.
It's like eye sign anyway. People look for different things, but the good ones win races regardless of all the theories.
