It's actually down to what happens before the 28th. I mean at region meetings where councillors will be mandated. A small but important point as many don't realise they can have a say in the current democratic process never mind how outdated I beleive that system to be.
RPRA Rule Changes
Hope you are keeping well.
I must congratulate you on the time and effort you have put in to formulate the propositions and to secure support from the EM region.
You are right of course, the AGM will only reveal which way the Regions delegates have been mandated to vote at least we would hope so.

I am well thank you. I'm not sure of your real identity but in any case I wish you well too.Bowbroom wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 10:16 am Hope you are keeping well.

I want to make people aware that the proposals were put together following requests from individuals around the country in response to the imposed levy. Although I am 100% behind them and did pull the rules changes together; I did so at the initial request of people asking how do we implement the Hall report. I just went one step further and removed the regions as well. I am passionate about it and firmly beleive it's the right way to go. That's just an opinion though and I'm aware others have different opinions. The difference is that I haven't seen a proper 'argument ' put together to support keeping the status quo.
What are the chances that all clubs and the regions are going to have meetings to get mandates in before the AGM Ian? I can see these propositions being lost because the majority of fanciers won’t even have had the chance to have their say. Certainly heard nothing about it around here apart from on this forum.
I hope it gets through.

All regions should have meetings although from what I have seen and heard it seems it doubtful that the SW region will do so. They don't seem to be functioning..so we will have a proportion of the members who haven't been given the opportunity to vote.Andy wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 12:51 pm What are the chances that all clubs and the regions are going to have meetings to get mandates in before the AGM Ian? As for clubs that down to each club. The proposals have been published as far as 'we' as a group behind the proposals can do so. It's also in the BHW and RPRA website. Personally I think more could be done by the RPRA to bring them to the attention of the general membership.
There’s little or no chance of the consultation happening as intended, how many members in your club could care less?
The majority are apathetic and simply want to race their birds without too much fuss or bother, there’s not a lot of point in bemoaning this fact because it’s human nature, just look at the % that can be bothered to vote in General or local elections.
If electronic voting was implemented the result would be the same, the majority wouldn’t bother.
I just hope that whoever holds authority after the AGM be it Council of Regions or an Executive committee of 5 people that they manage responsibly and do whatever is in the best interests of the members

I agree but even if the same amount vote under the new proposed structure then it will have still achieved a saving and will therefore be far more financially efficient.Bowbroom wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 1:12 pm There’s little or no chance of the consultation happening as intended, how many members in your club could care less?

My region South West what a shambles, emailed the secretary on the 23rd asking about the proposal's & she emailed back a very short reply that a meeting hadn't been arranged yet, & still not had any feedback about this since.
We have are club AGM on the 9th February I expect nothing will get done to even have a discussion or go to the meeting of the region.
Regards Dave.

As you know Dave I am in the same position as you being in the SW region. If nothing else our region shouldn’t be allowed to vote either way on these proposals at the AGM as they have no mandate to do so.CHARLTON34 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2025 1:57 pm My region South West what a shambles, emailed the secretary on the 23rd asking about the proposal's & she emailed back a very short reply that a meeting hadn't been arranged yet, & still not had any feedback about this since.

We also have our AGM on the 9th February. No mention of this being discussed.

Your region should have confirmed to your club when the meeting is to vote on propositions is, ask your club to call a meeting to discuss, elect a delegate to Region and instruct them to attend the Region meeting and vote according to the clubs wishes.
