Hi Chris

How many hens have laid and how long have they been mated?

I'm just trying to work out whether the pairings are all "sound"

I wasn't one who wanted all his hens down in 8 days, but if 95% weren't down in 12-14 days at the most then I'd be looking more closely

And how many days have they been mated?

Are they all new Stock to you? All 2024 birds?

Hi Leon

Typically around the 3rd week in July so 19th July this year will see many organisations starting racing YB

Odd ones do Old/Young before that but not many

Interesting. We still breed youngsters up to May for youngbird racing and our races start at about almost the same time.

We have a any age here 2nd Saturday in July last year or so
There is zero interest in it and that pleases me as I hate the thought of any age racing taking over I would rather have 2/3 races less a year to save the fed money if it’s a birdage issue than any age

I do Leon
I haven’t paired yet I will Sunday so my 2nd round will hatch probably first week in May
If I had room/ time I would have a team of foster parents and have all my babies very late April hatch they soon catch up with the summer temperatures and less sparrow hawks
