It was a clear and sunny afternoon. The sky was a deep blue. When I let the big youngsters and a couple of the stock hens out for a fly, they disappeared for a while then started flying big loops going about a mile one way then zooming overhead and off the other way. Just with the sun getting down a little bit but still quite bright, the light on them was beautiful.
It's just the occasional time like that, when the pigeons are fit and well, the day is perfect and you realise how lucky you are to be standing there watching them.

Couldn't agree more mate, that gives me as much pleasure as the racing. Thats why I like an open loft and concentrate mostly on the longer races.
Even if I didn't race any more I'd still keep them just for the pleasure of having them around the garden.
Billion Dollar Baby hatched another pair of babies this morning. Fifth round.
I know it's very naughty, I shouldn't have kept those eggs, but I couldn't throw eggs like that way. The youngsters off her and the Grizzle Thone' are super dooper!
