Beautiful, that was one of the best parts of being a Herdsman, I always said you miss the best part of the day in bed !! Sadly having done it for so long I struggle to get my arse out of bed these days, it doesn't help that due to my failing body I don't sleep well.
It's like being a jockey and being out in the dawn's early light. But when your'e a teenager you don't realise how lucky you are. When you are 50 you know how lucky you are!Trev wrote: ↑Sat Apr 05, 2025 1:49 pm Beautiful, that was one of the best parts of being a Herdsman, I always said you miss the best part of the day in bed !! My body is shot too, Trev. Had to resort to a painkiller to sleep last night. Collar bones, hip, knees, ankles, lie on one side and something hurts. Lie on the other side, something else hurts....

Greetings from the land down under.

I was up at 4am every morning when farming. Going out into the fields at first light in the summer to get the cows in, with the sun just rising and the skylarks singing above, can’t beat it. Not quite so nice in the middle of winter when it’s dark, freezing cold and you have to spend half an hour unfreezing the milking parlour before you start but the summers more than made up for it.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
