Here in Australia travelling an hour to the club is not an unusual thing. Here in Bendigo we have 2 members who have to travel nearly an hour to the club rooms every week. I am lucky, I am only 15 minutes away from the club rooms.
I guess in England, distances are shorter and a 45 minute drive to the pigeon club is not usual.
Even back in New Zealand I had a 40 minute drive though the traffic to send birds to a race.
We get used to things, until they change.
Greetings from the land down under. :D

Club racing is just not an option for me where I’m living. I’m not to worried as I’m happy just racing in the nationals but that may mean little racing over the next year or so as I still have no intention at present of registering with DEFRA. I may change my views if marking stations become more local again. But at present would have to take most of a day off work to take them. I also think the cost of racing over the channel could well double next year to make it viable.
It is a shame that there is nothing closer Andy, hopefully you will be able to get your clock read off somewhere.
I have finally got my DEFRA registration, I am hoping to race North Road with our club but do want the option to race in the classics as well.

Hopefully I can sort something over the winter. Otherwise I’ll just race what ever program the CSCFC comes up with North.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
