Last race of the sprint series yesterday.

Liberated at 8.00am I got one at 9.20. This placed me 4th as the first 3 were in the same loft.

Two blokes are racing to the same loft, but not as a partnership and they entered another couple of pigeons in another partnership. So they get 3 in the result.

Same with the final point score for the series. I am 5th although mine is the third loft. All in all I am happy enough with the result, considering I got hit hard the first week and had to scratch to put fit pigeons in every week after that👍😊

Well done Murray. How were returns for you on your last race? Is that you finished for the racing season now?

Thanks :D

I sent 4 to the last race, got 2 on the day. The other 2 might show up yet.

Because there was a 10 bird team limit and I sent 20 the first week I put half in for Catherine, as the McPhie family.

It's Friday evening, and my darling wife said to me that after another week at work, I was spending more time than ever out with the pigeons. She was not complaining, just making an observation.
She is correct. Even though I spend a fair bit of time training and caring for the pigeons when they are racing, I stay away from them for a lot of the time. They need to be able to rest and not be disturbed.
Since I am at work all day during the week, that is not hard. :)
But now the racing is finished, and the new babies are coming through. The first round were coming out of the loft during the last week or two of the racing, so they learned to trap REAL good
Now there is another round of babies in the nests. Ooh, there are some super, super youngsters in there. So yes, I am pottering about, putting clean paper in the boxes, putting a clean nest bowl in if it's needed, putting a scoop of feed in a bowl as it's eaten, :D

Nice birds there Murray, like the pair reds and grizzles will be good to see the grizzle on right of bowl when bigger
