That is the gamble with breeding. You can’t tell how the genes are going to mix. If you paired a deep keeled bird to a shallow keeled bird you would probably end with 25% shallow, 25% deep and 50% medium. Putting deep with shallow won’t give you all medium.
I love the breeding side and genetics fascinates me, always did when breeding dairy cattle.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.

You must of read the peas experiment that Munk did all those years ago with short & long peas ,any way why breed off do deep of pigeons in the first place ,cheers

Lovely pigeons, George. Yes Pete does breed nice pigeons.

Nice that they are tame. It's more fun with quiet pigeons, I think.

I have a few birds here either from Pete or down from Pete’s birds. I have unfortunately lost a couple of the best ones through either the hawk or from the bad trainer after having raced well. All the birds I have here are generally friendly. I haven’t been able to spend as much time with them as I would like and they are rarely handled. But when I’m in the loft they are quite, under my feet and some will sit on me while cleaning out.
