2023 Youngbirds Free
Inhave to say I do get the odd unfilled eggs but rarely get any broken !!
On your comment about the birds being "homed in", I take it you mean prisoners ??
I do have more unfilled eggs and greater losses of youngsters from the birds kept in my small shed as they are prisoners !! If you remember a couple of years ago I had some birds gifted to me from Rich (bryn from Wales) which were kept as prisoners, I bred from them two years and although most eggs were filled I lost nearly everything I bred from them. I have suspected that due to the birds being prisoners and the shed having no aviary that the birds just weren't fit enough to breed quality birds from which is partly why an keen to get these birds of Des Coulters out as soon as I can !! So far from them out of 3 rounds of eggs I have bred 11 babies (2 hatched today) out of 24 eggs.
I hope things get better for you Buster
No, Trev, I meant are the pigeons flying out and homing. Broken in might be another way of putting it.

I still find it hard to believe that it is fighting that is causing the problem. Especially as it is happening overnight when all should be quiet. I can’t help thinking that is must be something else disturbing them at night. Either inside or outside of the loft.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
Not sure overnight Andy I just know ok when shut up sometimes have been shutting up early due to weather, and when I open again next morning damage is doneAndy wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 10:17 pm I still find it hard to believe that it is fighting that is causing the problem. Sadies Lofts home of decent birds just a useless loft manager, and now a confirmed loser but proud

That's great news, Buster.
8 babies is better than none.
Hopefully as the days get lighter they will settle down.
