Although now called Glastonbury it used to be called the Pilton festival as it is in Pilton, which is actually nearer Shepton Mallet than Glastonbury. Travelling around here is a nightmare this week. The gate open for the car parks this evening and the entrance gates onto the site is from tomorrow morning. The local railway station at Castle Cary is taken over by revellers coming in by train with coaches then taking them to the festival.
Last night Roxanna and myself went shopping in Tesco’s at Shepton. It was full of people getting their provisions for the festival. Trolleys were full of crates of alcohol. Tesco’s had obviously geared themselves up for this as a fair bit of the store was taken over for alcohol and other essentials for the festival goers.

I couldn't bare to be near the place. Hope you avoid most of it!
Living in Brighton & Sunny Sussex.
I couldn’t think of anything worse myself Les. A lot of those attending behave like animals. We live 9 miles away but if the wind is in the right direction we can still occasionally hear it.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
Thought you was going to say smell it then with that description

Sadies Lofts home of decent birds just a useless loft manager, and now a confirmed loser but proud

Probably could if living closer lol. It takes nearly a week to clear all the rubbish left behind including many of the tents. We had a couple move into the little cottage next door to us a few years ago. They brought with them a lovely little terrier x dog “Maggie”. Apparently she had been found as a puppy in among the rubbish left at the festival.

And what with the Summer solstice at Stone Henge tomorrow it's going to be a bit busy around you bruv

I have to say having gone to the Bestival on the Isle of Wight when I lived over there, I do love a festival, I love all kinds of music and the atmosphere around these festivals is quite something. Having said that sadly there are those "A" holes who ruin it for everyone else.
