Today we said a final farewell to our long standing club Secretary, Mentor and friend.
Roy was the Worthing and District club Secretary for over 40 years until the club after more than 100 years sadly came to an end back in 2020. Andy and I have known Roy since we were young boys and along with our Dad he had a big influence on both of us. He could be a difficult Man as he was very stubborn and wanted things done his way but he didn't hold grudges and would support and help anyone who needed it, Andy and I remember many happy hours spent with Roy and his Brother Vic along with other club members Brian Doick and Laurie Everett down the club after most other members had long since gone home.
Thanks Roy for all you did for us, RIP my friend.

Yes Trev. I spent many hours with Roy in the pub until closing time on Friday and Saturday nights. I went to a couple of federation meetings with him and remember going to Hayling Island to do the clocks for Lerwick. Roy was a good fancier especially at the distance. Many great memories. Rest in peace Roy.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
