Would you really buy the cock in the photo without the name just on looks ?
I'll be kind Neil and say "No, I wouldn't"

If I was being honest on the image and the image alone I wouldn't have entertained it for free

Cracker that
What more could you want if buying a pigeon in
Real results in hot competition
I hate pedigrees with just names and no actual stats
I still think my Elvis son was a steal Mike
if you think Elvis is a double fed winner I believe a 3rd and 4th national winner like the one in your example a proper pigeon nothing flash or in fashion but top pigeons

Don't get "all shook up" Neil but I've just seen a 2024 Full Brother of "Elvis" ;) ;)

I just pick performance of parents g/parents they don’t have to be fashion
Anthony Webster use to always say you need 6 good winners on the left side of the pedigree I honestly think he was right
Not brothers or sisters of winners to buy from
I have a cock 3 times first 2500 birds he has bred me 5 federation winners yet every 6 he breeds 5 are crap it’s easy to put these to stock and sell ybs from them rather than the bin if I was a fancier who was interested in money
I think you can find good pigeons for your loft without going with fashion

The pigeon has great results all over the pedigree the father is a regional ace bird and the mother is the nest sister to a grand prix winner and also has good racing results. But I have a good mixture of birds in our loft with super racing results themself. Or pigeons with super racing results and breeding results in their pedigree. And i might upset some people with this but I do also see pigeons as an investment which i think based of some of our purchases is kinda obvious. Of course the racing part and the bond to the animals etc is more important to me then the business aspect but its not something to overlook for me.

If it wasn't about a pedigree i would never buy any pigeon just based of a picture

I hope the image is doing the pigon a dis-service that's all I'm saying, because it has the looks of a pigeon that I would happily skip past (based on image alone).

I agree

But an image has the capability of putting me off a pigeon if I think it's not a specimen that I could work with successfully

The fact you mentioned the nest sister has lost me she done nothing or had she ?
Do you like the condition of the pigeon in the photo to me it’s poor

you mention pigeons as a investment has answered my question Leon
We are very different
My business / work is income I have no interest in making income from pigeons my enjoyment is to win and not buy into the fashion thing
A racing loft must have the focus on winning not a sell on value in my view

The real class from my childhood were gifted working class pigeon men that I
could listen to for hours
Best of luck with your purchase with what ever your plans are
