Id also have to tip my hat to van den bulck tho i think his impact the past 10-15 years comming from Goede rode x Olympic Rosita is also not to overlook in my opinion
Agreed, but you can't have "Goede Rode" or "Rosita" without 003

If you look at the heritage of Goede Rode and Rosita you'll find 003 in both

I agree Devo, and I bet somewhere down the line, you will still find Janssen blood running through the veins of most, if not all, of our modern day strains and champions.

I can't really say as I don't go back as far as you lads but I wonder if you would put G. Busschaert in that frame.....?
In particular as his influence was mainly on British fanciers.

The difference between Georges Busscheart and the Janssen brothers, for instance, was the Janssen pigeons were a pure strain, people went to them to get birds on which they founded their families.
Busscheart was a great breeder of racing pigeons, but they had various backgrounds and there were different "strains" of Busschearts pigeons, i.e. the Rapido strain, which were often gay pied.
Georges Busscheart was reported to have said that regardless of where it came from, any pigeon that was in his loft was a Busscheart.
Probably never said it, but there you go.
Greetings from the land down under. :D

That’s how it should be. Only pigeons bred by the person that they are named after can by said to be their family. Any subsequent generations bred in other lofts can only be said to be based on that particular family. Our Dad bought some of the first Busschearts in this country direct from George Busscheart when he lived in Kent back in the 1950s. At that time they were mainly just blues or pencils with the odd chequer.
The Busschearts like the Janseens are the base of many of the modern day families.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
