Just need the Combine to sort out the race program & hopefully the hawks will leave mine alone during training & racing.
Regards Dave.
See the combine have come up with a better program now Dave. Only 2 Stoney Cross. There are 3 Eastbourne races as their longest, 118 miles for me. Still not as good as the 3 counties though. Also of course the youngsters are going down the leg.

First race 19th April. The widowhoods have been rearing either a pair or a single youngster. I removed sum of the hens today, the others over the next 3 or 4 days. The cocks will be left to finish rearing the youngsters. They will be repaired 3rd week in March and allowed to sit again for 10 days. Then on widowhood ready for first race.

Hello Andy, just got to go with it not ideal but we've known this for a few seasons, just enjoy whatever route you go, & your racing that's the main thing.

To those who are not successful I would say this

"Change Nothing and Nothing will Change"

To those who are successful, you know what you're doing and I would say

This will be my second year back sprint racing and back on widowhood. Although probably more correctly my first. Last year I started on widowhood and just getting going when after just 4 races our mum suddenly died. The season went to pot from that point. I paired them up at that point and finished the season on natural.

Delayed due to circumstances of possibly moving the lofts then not having to do so
It’s lead me to a slightly different system which may be easier long term if it works
Then after months of looking at corns/ brands I have gone back to what I had before and purchased it yesterday with a slight change following a bit of a experiment with fats on different days on the ybs
I would think Mikes sick of looking at carbs fats protein ratios each morning from my messages but he has the dropping photos to look forward to over his breakfast shortly so sure that will please him
Neil, I'm glad you're doing well, and Mikes guiding you well clearly!

I was wondering do you feel you are learning a lot from his guidance? Are you picking up on what he is looking for?

All the best!

He's being bashful. There's no flies on Neil
I'm sure he was in a good place to start out!

Very kind of you and I wish you well
He’s a great help not once has he not helped with advice or to look into one of my strange theories
That's great stuff!

I look forward to seeing the results coming in this season!

Am I right think you fly in the Midlands area? Would that be Worcester Fed?

I had my Entire Clearance Sale in 2007 so I've not had my own birds since then

But historically yes, I live in Rugeley and flew in the Worcester Federation and then the Burton & Derby Federation

I’m not one to put my results week
to week on forums always happy to provide them if anyone wants to have a look to see what path I’m heading right or wrong , good or bad
I normally show results to 4 or 5 mates as they do me even on bad days just to get ideas

I kind of just set up to try each week once a race has gone I put the records in my book on Sunday and that’s it finished
But obviously they are recorded

How’s plans going in the lofts are you on schedule or things not gone to plan in your preparation

I am to remove then hens today
They are not all sat the same time and 2 cocks are spare one has a box no hen
the other doesn’t have either my error moving hens on to quickly instead of keeping a couple for this . I have one pair not laid as they never got together in time so it’s a bit strange this year

It’s a month together though so hopefully bonds have been made
Very Lazy way to do it and I’m not really sure what the system is other than let them get in with it . It I can get them to race to territory more than hens it will help with my plan to race hens fully in 2026 in the longer races where I imagine losses will be higher so I could do with territory rather than the hen being to focus although it maybe anyway
, if it doesn’t work for the cocks then back to normal next year

I have Tuesday afternoon off work so that will be the first loft fly for the cocks
then we can get going at last
2nd worm treatment today then canker a weeks time
Food will change to race mix plus 50 per cent barley for March
