It does mean that we have the garage full of furniture and stuff, waiting to move.
The pigeons are an issue. My good mate David runs a freight company, and will move us when we buy a house somewhere. He also kindly offered to board my pigeons at his place and help to dismantle, move and set up the lofts.
Some of the old stock pigeons won't be going, and I have started tossing the young birds. They will get some serious work as soon as they are all out of the moult. They will have to be sorted out and the best ones taken.
Hopefully they settle okay.

As you live in such a large country I imagine pigeon clubs are is small pockets. Would your move mean stay in same area?

No, Wayne, we will probably move away, maybe 150 miles, closer to the coast.
The big cities, Melbourne, Sydney, etc, have a lot of fliers, and numerous Feds. The racing is very strong. There are a lot of migrants from Europe and Malta and places where pigeon racing is popular.
In the country, or 'the bush', as it's known here, most rural towns have a pigeon club. Bendigo, where I live, has two.
I am sure I will find a club wherever we end up. We are looking very hard at a town called Hamilton in south west Victoria. About 10 thousand people. Close enough to Warnambool, on the coast which is a city with a pigeon club.

It sounds like despite the size of your country you do have quite a few clubs available in the populated areas. As most on here know my nearest club is an hour and a half round trip for me. Down this way away from the cities like Bristol clubs are far between.

As Andy says it does sound like despite the problems with birds of prey and other challenges you have over there that pigeon racing is still a very popular pass time in most districts. Good luck mate
