Well, it's the first day of winter in Australia tomorrow, and as if following a script, the weather has packed up completely.
Very cold, raining, strong winds blowing from the ice somewhere.
It isn't often you can see your breath in the air in the afternoon in Bendigo, especially in the Autumn, but that's what it's like.
And they want to increase my taxes to stop global warming!
If I was not so polite, I would continue....

As I said, it is cold, almost cold enough to snow. It happens every few years, we get an early winter. Always has been.
This morning after I scraped out I went to get their breakfast. When I went back in, some genius had knocked a drinker over.
So I used the scraper and pan to scrape as much water off the floor as I could.
When I got home after work I went into the loft and found the floor was bone dry. Even though it is very cold and wet outside, the body heat from the birds and the ventilation had dried it out completely. :D
I think that there is an optimum number of pigeons in any particular loft.
Too few birds in a shed that is too open will leave them shivering and cold, getting sick, and needing medications.
If there are too many birds in a loft that has poor ventilation, that may cause disease, which needs medications.
If we are going to the medicine cupboard regularly, I reckon something is not right with the loft or the number of birds in it.
Some people have great knowledge of medicines.
They just have no knowledge of why they need to use them.

:D
I don't want to toughen up, killer.
I like things as they are.
I have 35 young birds pouring in through the sputnik after they have had their fly, even though they really aren't that hungry. I pretty much know which perch or box each one of them will be in, and have to scrape around them, because they don't shift.
I will never be a champion, I am too soft.
But I have won hundreds of races as a jockey and training horses, greyhounds and pigeons. I still like to win, but enjoying myself is more important now. :)

Sounds like normal UK weather lol. It is starting to warm up a bit but not much. A wet weekend is forecast.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
