Your Blue pied was my 8th bird Buster, which again, considering she has only had a handful of short races before and done nothing since last July was pretty good.
I'm not sure how far I'll push her yet, she might just stick at the shorter ones for now, I do have 3 nice babies from her, one is a late bred that will have a couple of the later races, the other two are youngsters.

Good to see Trev, what are you classing as latebreds as if this years we are still only in April

The late breds were out of my Perth birds so would have hatched late July mate

Ahh I see No last year mate, sadly I think the hawk had one of them from your pied, the other one is very nice though

For our 3rd race we had, 13 club members sending 291 birds, in a convoy of 1065 Sussex North Road Federation birds, away at Melton Mobray. A distance of 134miles to me. Due to early morning mist at the liberation site, and the UNC being just south of us at Huntington, our birds were held until after their 3rd group had been liberated at 11.30.
So our birds were released at 12pm in a light South West wind turning Easterly on route. It was always going to be a slower race but I expected the winners to be in around the 3hr mark, so optimistically I was set up and ready by 2.30, well you never know do you the three hour mark came and went, and just on 3.15 I saw a bird coming from the North, it came in beautifully, folded its wings, landed on the loft and was on the clock at 3.17, closely followed by my pool bird at 3.19 with 2 more on the clock at 3.21. It was a lovely race with birds arriving in ones and twos every few minutes, some coming down straight away while others enjoyed an extra lap or two. By the time I went to the club I had 29/33 home with another 4 in by nightfall, the last one was on the loft this morning, so all in all a satisfactory day.
This is our Club result, so well done to Alan who has also topped the Federation.
This is my clock sheet, I'm very pleased with how the birds are coming, especially my yearlings. I don't train my old birds, these early races are their preparation for the longer ones.
