I know a fancier who has more pigeons than perches and has won all but one yb race in his club
He uses it as a motivation in his view and stumbled on it accidentally

He's probably right too, if it works for him then good luck to him. I've always said that you need to find a system and birds that work for you, everyone has their own way.
Every fancier out there will tell you something different and most think that their way is the only way, that's what makes this sport so great. In our own heads we are all experts

I think it's the air space/flow and quality that's important !!
I'm overcrowded but just about get away with it as I'm on an open loft and the front of my loft is half wire mesh.

Yes mate it is, but as I really only target the longer races I'm happy to use the early races just as trainers.
I am going to do some rethinking and possibly some alterations over the winter.

I have big mesh windows Trev say 2ft by 2ft. I put some polycarbonate in a frame and hinged it so it keeps the rain out as it’s about 45 degrees but I can close it in late March
When the cocks go out I open it for a exchange of air during there fly
I leave it open August to March
Plus easy to make as I’m no diy person

How do you "accidentally" have more pigeons than perches ?
