If you wanted to police a individual hobby loft that would seems miles away from these money making scheme lofts it’s all built on greed not on the love of keeping pigeons they need the investigation

I would say Neil, that comes back to ourselves as the owners of the birds. So many times i have been told about birds being sent to races, not in good heath so things are picked up in the basket. Spreading to others birds, to it is all about governing yourself as an owner. Just my thoughts.

Can’t agree Devo that a animal rights issue your getting close to then which will lead us all to have a vets visit etc and probably kill the sport
One loft races are to make money for the loft manager and the people that send so should be made to pay as any business is to meet standards

It's NOT going to happen Neil. The RPRA won't want to upset the running of their own annual disaster. And many who enter keep sending year after year with no thought of the birds welfare. MONEY drives them. I myself have no time for them they are not races, just training tosses, there is NO competition, just luck.
These races will lead to the end of pigeon racing.

And in some OLR your racing against some of the best breeders in the world. I dont agree they are just training tosses, but that is your view.

The best I have seen so far this year is the Moray Firth OLR

If I got birds from several lofts and housed them all in my loft. And then sent them to say 200 miles would that be a race or training toss? The time they took to return would mean nothing, as they are all coming to the same loft.

I would call that a training race myself, there were test lofts a while ago King. To me if there are 1000 or maybe more or less birds flying 200 miles, back to the same loft. I would say first one back is the winner, OLR you are entering a comp, Some may like and some dont. I guess its down to choice.

If 4 horses are leaving the race stalls, and they run for 7 furlongs to the race winning line. The first one across the line is the winner.

I think King means it’s very different racing and a lot is in the drop so no real importance to the actual winner
The best pigeon doesn’t always win on the drop
I don’t really know any ace race loft that would build his uk race team for competition on one loft winners certainly not who I speak to
But we all have enjoy things as we can so best of luck Devo
