A couple of types of eyes, i do really like and its the type i would select when buying a bird.
What’s the bottom one Devo and can I ask what about it you like
Neil, these are the 2 birds i like. i like full eyes with something going on in them. Just the type of birds i would select, others may not.

These 2 show what I’m looking for and like in the circle of colouration, yellow in the first and violet in the second, both these colours can be seen easily from the inner circle out to the outside of the eye with lots of veins and ripples through them. They are highly magnified though. The irises are well broken. What I’m not so keen on in both eyes is the inner circles. They are both full of dark shading and not that well defined. They are both well serrated around the outer edges.

Have you a photo of one without a full circle so I can see the difference

All pigeons will have the circle Neil as it is the circle of adaptation. Basically it’s the muscle that constricts the pupil in bright light. Here are a couple of natural photos sent to me by another fancier.
The top photo shows the full circle easily looking like a washer around the pupil. In this photo it is wide. There is an area of dark shading if you look between 1 o’clock and 5 o’clock. I do prefer for breeding to have circles without dark shading.
In the bottom photo although you can make out this circle it is much narrower and can barely be seen on the left side of the eye. Between 1 o’clock and 4 o’clock you can see that the circle is a bit wider and serrated. It appears as though it is breaking out into the next circle. This photo was probably taken in a bit poorer light though.
You need to click on the photos to turn them the right way to see what I mean.
Hope this helps Neil.

Is it ok if the outer of the circle isn’t a neat line like a washer as Andy mentioned
I can see the washer shape but the edge isn’t smooth or is that not important
