I'm just having a bit of fun, :D
At my place, every pigeon eats this, every day.
I've got big youngsters that fly an hour in the morning and half an hour in the afternoon, and i have to tease them to get them in.
You will no doubt find a lot wrong with it, I do, but it works.

Nothing wrong in your mix I wouldn’t mind a bit more barley but that’s just me
You know peas/ beans have a place in a young pigeon in a older pigeon less so again you know carbs and fats as we have discussed this before and agreed
Glad your ybs are flying well mine are in the nest all but 8 new ones for my loft

It is a very scientific blend.
I have a tin and I put one of peas, one of maize, one of milo, one of Saff, one of wheat and a handful of black sunflower for the colour. Oh, and if I have some, sometimes a little brown rice.
Put it in a bucket with a little fish oil on it, looks like a really good thing.
But the really funny thing is, the protein and carb percentages are just about perfect! And even better, the pigeons can't read, so they just eat what's put in front of them. :D

Do you know the carbs fats protein percentage? We don’t go over about12 pc protein here for sprinting
How do you find the fish oil in your climate I use to use it a lot years ago to the weather got warmer as it can go rancid so I didn’t like to leave it in the breeding pigeons pots

The fish oil, I have capsules and squeeze one over the feed before feeding. If there is any left over or scraps, I bin it. I always try to mix only just enough on days when I use it.
Calculating the percentage of nutrients is easy.

Murray wrote: Fri Apr 11, 2025 10:53 am Red dari. I.e. sorghum/milo. 6%.
When I went shopping for corn red dari/milo was never on my radar really

I mean I'd "prefer" for the mix I was using not to have peas in it, but if it had it in in small numbers and I Iiked the mix overall it wouldn't stop me buying it

If milo was in there it wouldn't keep me awake at night, and by the same token if it were present it wouldn't give me a boner either

Best way to chuck it
Yes very easy to calculate I tend to do it constantly and this week I got it wrong not the calculation the idea
You wouldn’t use that mix to race on though when you race again ? Not for sprint races anyway

When I was sprinting Superstar Plus and Energy Plus were at the heart of our success

No no no.
That's my everyday mix that they all live on all the time. Plus a pot of peas for the stock birds with babies.
No, when they are racing we have to think about it some more.
But I can tell you that plenty of pigeons have won races on worse feed than that. :D
