Tore out there and saw a pigeon on the sputnik trying to get in. I quickly slid the cover across and the Roadrunner Heremans dived in and back into his box.
Quick head count and they were all there.
I have two overlapping pieces of fly screen hanging down inside the door to discourage them from flying out but the Roadrunner must have gone under it. Hes never been out since we've been here so that made me feel sick when I realised who it was.
That'll teach me to CHECK THE DOOR!
That was a bit of a fright for you. Good that he came back in ok.

The Roadrunner and Trillian hatched babies today, so that might also explain why he was so anxious to get back in yesterday. Eggs must have been chipping.
Only 17 days too, so they must have been sitting close the whole time.

It has made me sharpen up and put the bolt across instead of just relying on the latch during the day.

Beautiful white healthy ones, and tame. They've only started coming in the last week or so.
And these are the small parrots that come in for a feed too

It's got pretty warm here today, so I've put the bath in the aviary and the sputnik.
They like that.

I was painting the woodwork in the bathroom and had to stop and clean the brush. The paint was drying quicker than I could put it on!
