We were told we were going to get 41 or 42 degrees and hot strong winds and thunderstorms. It's very dry and that is a little bit scary. I was up at 6 am and had the pigeon hampers outside the shed, the cat cages ready and both the cars unlocked. I opened the gate and had all the hoses attached to the taps.
In the end, it got to 38sh, cloudy and a wind that kept it from becoming a furnace. So I count that as a win.
At 6.30 its still 37 degrees, but the pigeons are fine. The ventilation through the back wall vent at the floor works very well. Yes, it's hot. But it's only for one day and then we we are back to bearable temperatures.
The birds cope well.
Lovely looking babies Muzza, and a good idea with the rings and ties mate.
I hope the weather becomes more bearable and settled, stay safe my friend.

This being our first Christmas in St Arnaud, we are still making our way here. We have met some super people.
We saw that there was a Christmas parade in the main street at 7 pm tonight. So, we wandered down, and found what appeared to be the whole town plus most of the surrounding district lining the main street.
The fire Brigade, emergency services, local clubs, farm equipment dealers, the small but vibrant Philipino community, there were all sorts.
There were kids from about 18 months old to almost teenagers wandering around on the street picking up the sweets that were being thrown, and there wasn't a policeman or Hi Vis jacket to be seen.
The adults, like us, were watching the little kids, and the vehicles were going about 1 mile per hour. It was a time warp back to when we were kids
And there was not a rainbow flag, no BGQ...I cant remember, float, just a heap of people bringing their kids and clapping at the locals who do so much in the community.
Oh, it was good fun.
