Hello - new member here. Thank you for the add.
I’ve not had pigeons since I was a teenager 45 years ago but the bug has never left me and I’m just in the throws of sorting out a loft etc and getting back into the sport with what time I have left.
So much has changed since the 70s it seems, not all for the better, but this thing called the internet is one of the changes for the better I think. Just being able to do this - chat with guys around the world with vast amounts of experience, all willing to share their knowledge, it’s just great. Cheers. Pete.

H i I am from North East Scotland and fly with the North of Scotland fed. I kept birds for 15 years but gave up 45 years ago. I started racing again a couple of years ago with a two section twelve foot loft .As i only have a small loft i have to fly natural and can not keep stock birds or fly widowhood so i can not compete with the sprinters but hope to be able to compete at longer distance.

Good luck to you Janik, I hope you have a good year with your birds. Just remember you have to be in it, to win it. All the best in racing.

One thing Janik I new a bloke in a similar situation once his ybs had run a week or two he split his birds and put the hens in with the ybs for a good few weeks to the young cocks matured
Then put them back with the old cocks so they had a period split on a kind of double widowhood to gain fitness and obviously a bit of motivation during the time then were keen to nest again rather than being sat eggs all year

Thanks for the info Janik and welcome to the site. As long as you enjoy your pigeons that’s the important thing. Best of luck for this coming season.
