A bloke offered a box full of old Australian Pigeon Racing Journals to David Cox. Davey said it wasn't his sort of thing, I don't think he's a huge reader, but he knew a bloke who would be pleased. So I picked them up yesterday.
I thought "old" meant old. There's editions from the early 2000's right up to last months one!
A bit of light reading..... :D
That should last you a while mate :D

Just making some veggies for the birds.
The chard, the courgette, the kale and the celery leaves are all straight out of the garden. Carrots are still a bit small.
The pigeons love their veggies, the babies think they are great
Its going to be stinking hot today, and the veggies are nice and refreshing.

Look at the size of that courgette plant! It's like a Triffid!
And the cucumbers are 7 feet tall !
Plenty of heat, plenty of water and things just go mad. The tomatoes are at least 8 feet tall and still going.

Youngsters do like the veggies.
Once again, the red pied Thon'e baby is right there beside the grizzle youngster. I've never seen two youngsters sort of pair off from the day they ere weaned like that.

It got hot here today. It was 40 for a while, with a hot dry wind. I put bottles of water in the freezer to get cold, because the water was coming out of the tap at blood heat. When I emptied out the drinkers it wasn't warm, it was hot! Poor buggers. :o
I found a pair of babies with their wings hanging down and looking ordinary. I put a small drinker full of cool water in their box and put their heads in until they had a drink. In two minutes they were good as gold! They were a bit small to be putting a drinker in, but they know that one now!
It started cooling down around 3 pm.
Showers overnight and rain in the morning. We need it.

All the goodness going into the youngsters, they are looking well on it.
