He didn't go anywhere today. He's very tired.
I held him and Catherine smeared a little soothing ointment on his chest. It didn't open the skin but it's probably sore.
Greetings from the land down under. :D

And the youngsters didn't go anywhere either, little buggers. They hopped out, sat on a branch for a while, poked around the back yard for a while, then put themselves away again. I was cleaning out and rising drinkers and watering veggies and stuff, and they were right where I was walking. Nearly stood on one!
They are very laid back. :D

I was given another heap of old Australian Pigeon Racing Journals. In the box was a collection of Pictorials. Looking forward to browsing them.

I have been cleaning them out and watering them and feeding them 3 times a day, they have grown like mushrooms and got very used to me picking them up, scraping under them and putting them down again.
I put them in the loft today. that went very well. :D
Doesn't time fly :D :o
That kit of youngsters has been going out for a week or so, Sometimes they're mad keen, some days they just potter about.
Today was a bit scary. I let the Seven out and they flew a couple of laps. Then took off. :D
:( An hour later two came back.
:( Two hours later three came back. Pretty thirsty and tired. It was 30 degrees.
An hour later another arrived. :( it was pretty cooked.
So, I'm a bit disappointed. The little red pied off the old Jos Thone' hen, which I had kind of set my heart on to be part of the "Next Generation", is not back.
Disappointed, because the old hen won't lay again, this one was a small miracle :D And it's father is a Red Thone' off original imports.
Sigh :(
7.30, wife says there's a pigeon on the trap! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
I don't know whether it's a very good one or a very bad one, but I doubt my feet touched the ground!

I would say it as been a good days training for them, a very hard one for them. But they will come on for the freedom flying they have done. Great to see they all returned, and they know they have a home to return too.

Thank you Devo. Appreciated.
I have to start a 'New Generation" at the new place.
I've got pigeons from my best breeding pairs in a few lofts, with the aim of getting a quid and promoting my loft.
I have the parents and younger siblings of the pigeons which have gone to other lofts. Except the "Pipie". She is unique, a one off, never to be repeated.
It is still allowed to fly every day. If it is lost, I will be disappointed. But she will be free to fly with the others.
I've lost a lot of pigeons, never lost a stock bird off the loft.
