Great to hear you’ve both had a good time and enjoyed your time together. Look forward to hearing about how your future plans go. Safe journey home mate.Devo1956 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 12:15 am Well coming to the last days of my trip, I will have to come back for longer. The 2 weeks went so fast, but what a time I have had. Spending time with Murray and Cathrine, was just like visiting family. I could not have asked for better company, daily chats about the birds. Also chats on all different topics. and visiting some nice places. The trips to see David Coxs loft was a memory in itself, and to come away with 2 top youngsters. From some of the best breeding lines in Australia, Joining some of the best breeding lines already in Murrays loft.
So Murray is going to be very busy when I travel home, it is going to be some project in the extension of loft now. I cant wait to see the end results, but I know this will be a very good 20 foot loft. With some of the best breeding lines, taking us forward in the sport.
Devo's visit to Australia
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.
Yeah we’re the same. Live together and work together as we both work in our shop. Have done for the last 20 years. After losing 2 family members last year it makes you even more appreciate what you have. The pigeons are just fitted in around what we do.Buster121 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 2:42 pmSame here mate joined at the hip sometimes think to closeMurray wrote: ↑Sat Mar 29, 2025 7:11 amNot even on the agenda, Buster.![]()
I have some new plans and a new direction, so I'll be fairly occupied for a minute.
Also Catherine will not travel that far, and we have become fairly much joined at the hip. We seldom go far way from each other any more. We had some adventures, but now we are very much home people.![]()

I'm glad you have had a great trip Devo, and that you have all got on so well together.Devo1956 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 12:15 am Well coming to the last days of my trip, I will have to come back for longer. I hope your future plans go well for you all, it's great to see that spark back again mate.
All the best to you all.
Lisa won't travel far either, and because of my worn out body I can't drive very far at the moment, and find sitting for too long uncomfortable. We just do what we can, when we can. As Andy said, having lost our dear Mum last year, and Roxanna's Auntie, it does put things in perspective and makes you appreciate those you have left, and the time you have left, so much more.Andy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 30, 2025 9:24 amYeah we’re the same. My last day in the company of Murray and Cathrine, I have to say two of the nicest people you could meet. I am really going to miss being here, I was made so welcome. But I have had a great time and can not wait to return, I have already looked at some flights. I think I will return in January 2026 for 3 weeks, this will give me more time working with Murray. We will be sending youngsters to OLR and ring races. the loft will be in full flow breeding some quality youngsters. We are both happy with the way our plans have come together, it gives us both a new lease in life. But most of all a great way of staying in the sport which we both love.
Murray works very hard in all that he does, so I know the birds are cared for 365 days a week. And most of all, the health of the birds is Paramount.
A big thank you to Murray and Cathrine, you made my trip a trip to remember.

Will be something for both of you to look forward to, I hope you all have good luck with the venture and look forward to seeing your exploits in 2026

Catherine and I just got back from seeing George off in Bendigo as he heads home. We will miss him, it has been great, we have grown very close.
I will write a post when I get a minute. We have an electrician and a plumber here tomorrow, and a load of timber for the new loft arriving, so I might be a bit pushed. But we have had a great time, I will tell you all about it.

When George, (Devo), first suggested that he might like to visit us I was quite agreeable to the idea, but it was sort of an abstract concept. It'll never happen. But it did! And we have been so fortunate.
George, we call him George, arrived when we were in the middle of assembling flat pack kitchen cabinets, the place looked like a bomb had gone of, and he never blinked. Instead he got stuck in helping me
I don't think he has seen many loft management systems like mine. I have plenty of vegetables out there just now, and I'd be chopping up all sorts and stuffing them in the little blender, there would be leaves and stuff everywhere, and garlic in bottles...
But George is very switched on with regards to health and nutrition. He quickly saw what I was doing. The fresh vitamins from live food is much more effective than a product from a jar.
I have a round of 5 I weaned about the day he arrived.
