It got warm this afternoon. 39.1 as I write.
The pigeon shed is corrugated iron. It gets too hot to touch in the blazing sun. I have hosed it down about ten times today. It cools the tin right down, but it soon gets hot again. But I think it stops the shed getting hotter and hotter and hotter.
I put two baths in there earlier, and when I looked they were all stuffed in them looking very pleased.
Just getting some water in their plumage seems to help.
I have added a little apple cider vinegar, not much, to the drinkers. On a hot day a little acidity is refreshing.
Just took a look, they are fine. They probably would be anyway, pigeons are pretty tough, but I want to make it as comfortable as I can for them.
It's what we do, isn't it.
