Thank you!
Yes, almost all of the first couple of rounds went away, so as I say, these are later bred ones and odds and ends. Still bred off the same pigeons and nice youngsters. Now they are out of the moult, the older ones, and I am very pleased with them. :D

The red pied hen in the middle of the picture, she is the 'surprise baby' from the old pied Jos Thone' hen and the light red Jos Thone' cock. I was so pleased to get her, and she is such a quality youngster, that she was labelled "stock" straight away.
She's flown with the others all the time, and when the old hen produced another pair I put her in with the others for a few practice tosses. She ended up going to a one hour toss on Wednesday and an hour and a half fly on Friday.
The races are not for months yet, which is why I wanted to get some hard work into them before the winter.
The red hen, 'Pippi' she's called, has proven she can do the job, two quite hard trainers in three days when only just out of the moult. So she's done now. She won't see a hamper again.
There are another 8 or 9 younger ones, very late bred, that won't be trained before the winter. But where I am, far out on the front mark, they will get some training and maybe jump in the races in the spring.
The racing here is mental. Take anything you know and throw it away. :?

I've got a pair of youngsters off the Grizzle Thone' and the B$B. Both grizzles, now there's a surprise, and nearly 5 months old.
Reggie and Ronnie. Kray :)
I think Reggie may be a hen. Ronnie is definitely a cock.
This 'Ronnie the grizzle' is starting to behave very much like an Alpha male. He is reluctant to go in while any others remain outside.
Because it was cold and wet and miserable this morning. and my lungs do not like that, I kept them in until time for the afternoon fly. A few of the stock pigeons said they wanted out as I cleaned the shed, finally there was quite a bunch dancing in the stiff breeze. :D
When they started dropping there were some hungry youngsters, some old birds, Ronnie the grizzle, some other big youngsters....etc. All normal, except,
I was standing right at the sputnik, telling Ronnie to "get in the box" Ronnie was glaring back at me and as each pigeon, including his father :o landed, he would herd them in. When all were in he did a circuit of the board, gave me a filthy look and went in.
I'll be buggered! The pigeon is 4 months and 3 weeks old!
