Been raining here since late morning.

Cloudy but dry and mild for most of the day with the odd sunny spell.

It's raining good here, and looks like it has set in for the day.
Not cold though.

Yes it's very bad.
It's like when the Brisbane river went out of it's banks in 2011. I think 36 people died in Queensland from the floods that time.
Pigeons are survivors. I was talking to bloke when I was up there, and after he found all of the bits of his loft and put it together again, the pigeons started arriving and moving back in. They must have spent a few nights in the trees or anywhere they could find above water.

I had similar in the storms we had in 1987. Both of my lofts then were flattened. I did have 4 birds killed under them and some were trapped in box perches but most of them had just taken off. Don’t know where they went during the night in winds up to 106 mph but the next morning they were sat on the house. I quickly knocked up a temporary loft and they all came in.
