Sorry Neil but I never said that on poor days fanciers who get big drops should still do so. I simply just suggested that these races sort out your leaders from your followers. Yes I am lucky enough to live above the shop and have a reasonable sized garden behind to keep my pigeons in. When I was farming I worked 12 to 14 hours a day 7 days a week but then still had time for the pigeons, swimming, waterpolo, kids etc but at present with everything that is going on I just don’t have enough hours in the day. I agree the pigeons I have at present aren’t good enough for sprint racing. I bred 21 youngsters. 1 pair only had one hatch, 1 pair took too long to go down to keep. I got rid of 4 I didn’t like, lost 3 off the loft and 1 training. So only started the young bird season with 13. Lost 4 first race, 2 second, missing 2 from this weekends disastrous race leaving me with 5, two of whom are hawked so won’t be able to race.
Sorry if I have taken offence to yours or Mike’s posts but things are difficult enough at present without being told I don’t know how to race pigeons. As said in a previous post I was top flyer in the old Worthing club. I hold the record for the most 1sts in a season winning 10 of the 21 races which included 2 x 348 miles, 1 x 431 miles and 1 x 550 miles. My widowers only went as far as the 348 mile races.
I respect both of your views and know things need to be changed but at present I’m not in a position to do anything about it this season.

I don’t see where anyone told you that you don’t know how to race pigeons maybe it reads like that ?
I said you don’t understand big drops as you have posted what you did which to me means you can’t
I have also said your not going to win without training and you have the wrong pigeons now ,but you know that anyway
I also know that we have a expert in Mike that would help I text him things that are in my head regular or if I’m thinking this could go either way and he never fails to help
I already have a plan to Improve my cocks system that he’s thinking over for me
He probably thinks I’m bonkers but he always helps with advice even though half of what I think is pointless

Birds in our club and in Trev’s are being reported all over the country. At least they are getting reported. Although this would suggest that more are going into other lofts rather than ruffing it.

Sorry Neil, I totally missed this post
I think you're onto a good idea with the cocks
The bit that you might find emotionally challenging is if the cocks racing ability is impacted by the hens racing too
So, it's a bit of a fact finding mission
Me, I'm never afraid to experiment because its only by doing this that you learn
Take Phil we're on a completely different YB feeding regime this year
It's not for me to be honest, I feel out of control.
I gave Phil the option to revert back at the weekend but he's happy with the new regime at the mo, so we'll continue that way
But the judges scorecard will be assessed at the end of the YB season you can be assured of that
