New or old beans for feeding stock/ babies ?

New as the goodness is fresh or old as the moisture has gone ?

I would say, it depends on the quality of the beans. With the weather we have had, over the past couple of years. quality is important.

If quality was the same, i would go for the new beans. Everything we eat has a shelf life, the same with the birds. Its all down to nutrition values, in what we eat, or should i say our birds.

That was my thinking

Nutrition quality of food purchases varies by household income: the SHoPPER study Do you think it is the same when feeding our birds? Some can afford top feed mixture and other additives needed, and some cant.

I've only ever used Beans once (for 5 months) , and that was on one pigeon for a specific race (Bergerac 557 miles) - so I'll bow to other people's better judgements on this one

Either. both will still have the same nutritional value. The new beans will be cheaper.

I use them for stock 24/7 I go out in the dark cone home in the dark at that time
I always put a pot of energy fats mix and chicken pellets in the box
Just makes it easier for me
What it is I bought 8 bags cheap and have 4 left so I could put them away or use them now with a light mix to keep the stock on to the moult kicks in if the beans are not so good with time
