Can i ask members that have raced the widowhood system this year, what is your assessment of the performance of your birds taking in weather conditions?

Not as good as normal poor infact

Week 1 6-7 fed
Week 2 1-2-4 fed
Week 3 12th - 13-14 fed
Week 4 13th -15-16 fed
Week 5 didn’t send
Week 6. 9 fed can’t remember other position

That was the end of my season mum was diagnosed week 5 unfortunately so hospital twice a week plus peregrine killing my birds finally finished me off
Although it was not my best season by far

Definite drop off as 2 years ago

Week 1 6-7-8 fed
Week 2 1-2-3 fed
Week 3. 1-3 fed
Week 4 9-10-11 fed
Week 5 16th fed
Week 6 1-2-4 fed

Need to improve next year although I have a eye on more middle distance races as something to try rather than 0-250 miles

Yes 😂 to be fair she got me out of trouble then 3 weeks when I was ill
Think it’s down to routine I use to have everything done to the exact min with alarms in my phone other little things as well that you get complacent with and don’t bother to do all adds up

I think its fair to say pigeons thrive on some kind of routine

In this instance George I'd say Phil races more Roundabout than hens, so can't comment really

Although not setting the world alight I was happy with the way the cocks were performing considering it was all new to them. That was until we had the personal troubles with both mum and Roxanna’s aunt when all the routine went out of the window. I had to then re pair them. They certainly trapped much quicker on the widowhood than they did this week back on natural.
Back just enjoying club racing for the time being.

Routine with cocks for sprinting is vital I think
Things you do during the week on set days helps them build to the week
I think they get to understand it’s Friday
