I am trying to find some information, about a bird from this family of birds. Delbar-pigeons. If i am right, he had a son of the young Stier., this is the old guy in Germany.


The Delbar family is a three-generation pigeon racing family. Maurice Delbar began racing pigeons at age 10, following in his father Oscar's footsteps. In 1960, Maurice's son Mick began to help him, and eventually succeeded him. The family built their first pigeon lofts above their textile dye business. During World War II, the occupiers attempted to take all of their pigeons, but some females were found after the armistice

My dad used to race the Delbars he had grizzles they were I think Bellingy Delbars not sur I spelt that right but they flew well for him from France over 500 miles

Yes Ted i know they were good over the distance, i had a youngster a blue Delbar bred by Mick Morrisey Snr. I topped Liverpool Amal from Hereford 2 7200 youngsters, but that was going back to 1980. I went to work in Germany, so i gave the hen back to Mick Morrisey Snr.

Are you thinking Berlengee Delbars? . (Hector Berlengee)

Old boy I new late 80’s files really well with delbars on hard days and done well from Scotland often having them in quick time and small gaps when others were glad to get one
He trained like mad though 40 miles 4 days a week and flew natural
Use to eat ones he didn’t want
Even eat his Thurso combine winner when it proved useless at stock
Still nothing wasted to be fair
