We moved into the cottage on Friday, so a new thread is required.
Life in St Arnaud.
We were busy packing clothes and crockery and things for a few days and bringing them out, and the cats were getting very suspicious. On Friday we left, I swept and vacuumed through the house then we put the cats in the carriers. As soon as we opened the door Flynn walked in, turned round and sat down
He was all set to go!
The cottage is not quite finished, the bathroom tiles and hardwood flooring is sitting in the living room, and there's stuff everywhere,

but we are sorting it out. Another week and it'll be neat as a pin.
I had my doubts, but it is really starting to look nice.
We were worried about the boys being upset, but that first night we had 3 cats off and on the bed and tearing around the house. They like it!
Home is where the pussy cats are.

This year I have changed some matings around. One of the red Thone boys is paired up with an old Thone' hen I was given a long time ago. She's off a champion race hen. She hasn't left much in recent years, but she was keen on the red cock and I might get a nice young hen to keep for stock. I am beginning to believe that old pigeons can breed stock birds but race birds are better from younger pigeons. She laid the first egg at the new place today
It's a good egg too. Nice and clean and well shaped.
Looking forward to several more laying in the next day or so.

Well done Murray, it's been a long haul but a fun adventure for you too.
Great to see everything coming together for you now mate and good to hear that the cats are happy, I hope you all have many happy years together there.
It's also good to hear that the birds have settled in nicely, fingers crossed that your old Red hen gives a nice young replacement

All the best and I look forward to hearing more about your new adventures.

Like NeilA, whose youngsters are in super form, my mate David Cox in Bendigo won the Combine for the forth time in 5 weeks on Saturday.
Good loft, good pigeons and a trainer who is not afraid of hard work.
It appears to be the answer.

Well done to David and his birds, as the saying goes you only get out what you put in
