Advice for 300 - 500 miles

For sprinting I try to keep my carbs high around 60 per cent, protein about 10 and fats around 8 but do increase depending on wind etc
For say 8 hours flying to 10 hours on a ok day say 1300 ypm how would middle to longer distance fanciers alter the above ratio and if you still wanted to be amongst the early birds in the April / May shorter races what point would you change the ratio if say you was at 300 miles and upwards from the first week of June
Would you make changes 2 weeks out?

For me finding the answer to that would be like finding the holy grail of pigeon racing. I,ve had them flying well at the shorter races and flying well at the longer races but can,t recall a season where the same pigeons done both to my satisfaction. I,ve read where fanciers say feed fat/ protein earlier and over a two week cycle but that’s never really worked for me. Like I said in another post I’ve had them at 550miles on the day feeding Vandenbelle mix but they had only been worked lightly prior. I hope someone who has had a better experience will contribute to the post as it would be really interesting to read.

Not flown over 300 for maybe 12 years or so just twice from memory
That was on the basic feeding with fats but thinking of trying in 2026 and maybe playing about with a couple of races in 2025
So that’s going to be something I will need to understand better my base is the same as yours which I add dupurative to and fats at times but that’s for my sprinting
