Why are some rounds better than others.

The Roadrunner and Trillian Baby hatched babies a couple of days ago. Strong, vigorous youngsters.
The first round were smaller when they hatched and while they grew okay, they were not the sort of youngsters I was really happy with. The other first round were a bit like that too. Some were great, terrific, but others were a bit more average. This round are all very nice.
Maybe it was because the pigeons are very settled and happy now?
What are your thoughts?

I would have to agree Murray, settled birds will rear very good youngsters. Feeding the youngsters well and being in good condition themselves also helps. Well done mate.
