On my visits years ago, i went to this place. I took a few lads over with me, and one of them topped Liverpool Amal. With a youngster he bought from there.

From the blog of Ad Achaerlaeckens this morning

Never again (24-02-24)
Lier market in the 80s. In the time when one pigeon loft still leaned against the other. That in some streets enough fanciers lived to form a club. In the morning Lier market and in the afternoon to the breeding station Natural or the bird market in Antwerp . It was always at this time of the year or a little earlier and how much many looked forward to it. It will never come back.
Did you also have a drink on the terrace last Friday? Exactly 40 years ago the Elfstedentocht took place. In the meantime even the greatest optimists have given up.

I would go back there Murray, and also take a trip to the breeding station at Natural. I would also like to visit the Janssen graveyard.

Some of our Federation members are Joining a coach trip going to the breeding station and a couple of other locations in Belgium, I'm not sure who has actually organised it but we were asked to make up a coach load. They are leaving early hours of Friday morning, I was tempted, but as I've not got a passport I decided I couldn't justify the expense.
