I have a Ford Kuga hybrid. I love the car. Virtually all you have to do is accelerate, brake and steer. Everything else the car does itself. The other day it had a complete power outage, couldn’t even open the doors with the fob. Managed to get into the car and open the bonnet using the slave key. Attached a booster pack to the battery terminals and away we went. Had the same about 5 months ago but no trouble since. I contacted our local Ford dealer last week and took it over yesterday. They had to do a software upgrade on it lol. They said that there had been a computer blip that had caused the power outage. Should all be sorted now. Comes to something though when you have to update your car software like you would a smart phone or tablet

Correct.
I have a 2002 Holden Commodore ( General Motors) with 300,000 kilometres on it. It's old but they cannot build up a file on me. :D

I've got a 2024 Audi Q4 e-Tron (40) Sportback

Since moving to Electric there's no way I'll ever go back to petrol/diesel again

I can do over 300 miles on 1 charge and living in the Midlands that puts me in reach of everywhere I need to go

Been to Southampton and back on 1 charge, York and back on 1 charge etc

Being with Octopus Energy its p!ss cheap to charge up overnight between 23:30 and 05:30

I reckon I save well over £2,000 a year on fuel now

Yea some of those electric cars are very nice. But you couldn't have one here. They are obsessed with dismantling the power grid and going "Green". Electricity is becoming very expensive and the supply unreliable.
They can't give them away.

That’s the only problem I have Mike, the charging. If I could charge from home it would be dirt cheap. But because we live in the high street above our shop I can’t charge from home because I would have to run the power cable across the pavement. I have to park the car in the public car park opposite. There is a charging point there but quite expensive so tend not to charge it. But because it recharges itself when braking or when I haven’t got my foot on the accelerator I still do half my journeys on electric. It does have a 2.5ltr petrol engine.

I'll stick with petrol. I ain't going to be trapped in an EV when it catches fire.

I have an "Eezee" charger installed at home.

To buy it and get it installed cost about £700 in total

Paid for itself within 4 months
