I've just been watching some videos of Mark Gilbert's pigeons returning. He's got 'em trapping!
Also a video of the Eijerkamp pigeons coming from the last training fly. Trapping great.
It makes you very keen to get started.

Anyone can sometimes get a bad trap at the home end - sometimes "Sh!t Happens"
Basically though, to me, a poor trap (1 circle round) smacks of a lack of discipline and a lack of desire
That's all there is to it really.

Yes, sometimes as you say.' shit happens.
I'd have won the first race about three years ago but she landed on the TV aerial and sat there

None of them had ever noticed there even was a TV aerial.
But I am still quite certain most races are won a the start. I will argue that all day long. While half educated pigeons are going round and round, the winners are well on their way home.
I have won races by not seconds, but minutes, because they have been taught to go, out, home.

I quite agree
But if I've got a bird with you at the home end and you do a whip around the loft then trust me, you're toast

Whilst your pigeon is trying to tune into Sky Sports 1 on the aerial I'm in and out the loft and the fat lady has taken her bow

What results are you looking for and from what races?
Of yours? Yes I'd love to see a heritage of victories from in excess of 1,000 in the race
