I'm not getting on here as much as I used to at the moment and have a few topics to catch up on. I will also put our last race report up before the weekend, however I did just want to say well done to my older brother Andy for two great results in the Glastonbury RPC, and also in both the Three Counties Federation and the West of England.
Well done Andy, two great and very well deserved results :D This bird has certainly taken to your change back to widowhood, long may it continue.

If you don't mind me asking, Andy, how are you feeding the cocks? I know you used to break down and build them up, in the usual manner. Are you still doing that or have you changed to the later trend of one diet every day?
Also, are you feeding a light low protein diet?
Whatever you are doing works :D so i'd be interested to know.

Hi Murray. I am enjoying going back to my old system of racing widowhood. I am only racing 7 cocks. I started with 10. 2 have stopped racing because of injuries. I have lost just 1 pigeon in racing this season where many pigeons seem to have been lost. This was a 4 year old having his 30th race so more than likely taken by a BOP.
With the Glastonbury club we are flying in both the West of England South Road Combine and the Three Counties Racing Pigeon Championship Club. Although both flying East to West they are on different lines of flight. Some weeks I have been racing with both and some weekends with one or the other depending on where they’re racing from.
They are being fed on a Depurative mix lightly from Sunday till Tuesday afternoon. Then Bucktons all round mix Tuesday afternoon, Depurative Wednesday morning, All round as much as they want Wednesday afternoon. All round on Thursday, light in the morning and as much as they want afternoon then all round left in front of them all day Friday, Roxanna gives them a few sunflower hearts every morning lol.
They are exercised twice a day being shut out for an hour a time. A lot of that time especially early week they spend in the top of the 60ft fur tree behind the loft. Keeping on clapping off and back again, As soon as I go out and drop the landing board they are down and in. No training either.
They get and have not had any treatment for anything other than PMV back in January. Nothing in water either,

Not doing bad considering we were told by a couple of members on the forum that we didn’t know what we were talking about and couldn’t fly a kite as they put it.

Andy i see you are using the Buckton's Best All Round instead of their Super Widowhood. Is there a reason behind that or is it just that you feed the All Round as the daily diet for everything?

To be perfectly honest Murray it’s just what I can get hold of from my wholesalers. I don’t see paying retail price for corn when I can get it at trade through our shop. But they do a very limited range. As I’ve said before I don’t believe that there is much difference in all these mixes, all named for the fancier. The overall analysis is very similar in all of them. I think it’s much more important how you feed and to what you’re feeding it too.
