Today’s trainer.

So this morning I took the young birds on their 3rd trainer, 10 miles again. I took all 35 youngsters, 16 old birds and 3 strays. 54 in total.
I let them all go together at 6.42am. There was a fair bit of blue sky but the sun was behind a large cloud. The circled a couple of times before clearing in a homeward direction. I got back home at 7.05 and the majority were already home. Some of the old hens were already back on their eggs and several others in the loft, both old and young, so they had probably been back for a while. As the lofts were all open and I wasn’t going to get them in for a while I wasn’t sure if they were all back but it looked like most were, including “Steve” with only part of his tail and 2 of the 3 strays. There were a couple of old birds that I couldn’t see. After feeding them in at around 8.15 and having a count up all the youngsters were there. I was missing 2 old birds. One turned up a bit later but a latebred from last year is still missing. I also lost one of the strays
.
All in all another successful trainer.
